People ask us all the time why we prefer Webflow to other tools for building websites. This series is our answer to that question. Oh—and we don’t just prefer Webflow, we 💙 it!

Last week, our team assembled in San Francisco for the 2024 Webflow Conf, and it did not disappoint. From exciting product announcements to powerful insights, the event showcased how much Webflow has grown and where it’s headed. Whether you’re a designer, marketer, or developer, there was something for everyone. We left energized and inspired to push our Webflow projects even further.

Here were our key takeaways:

  1. Confidence in Webflow Has Never Been Higher
As Webflow continues to expand its market share, I’ve wondered if it might lose some of the magic that made it great in the first place. Instead, it just keeps getting better. With new executive leadership bringing fresh perspectives and strategies, it’s clear that Webflow is poised for even more growth. Their mission remains the same, but with more scale and a quicker pace, it’s never been easier to migrate from older tools like WordPress.
  2. So Many Amazing New Tools for Marketers
The opening keynote had everyone buzzing with excitement. Webflow’s newest features are heavily weighted toward marketers, designed to streamline their workflows and empower them like never before. There was a huge emphasis on making marketing leaders’ lives easier by simplifying site management and content optimization.
  3. Webflow Is Ready for Enterprise Companies
Webflow’s latest updates made it undeniably clear: they’re fully equipped to serve enterprise clients. From advanced scaling capabilities to world-class security features, the platform is ready to (and already does) support large companies. Their secure APIs and lack of reliance on risky plugins ensure a stable, dependable foundation for businesses at scale.
  4. Enhancing Collaboration with New Roles
Webflow announced new role-based permissions (Design, Build, Edit) in the platform that allow for more tailored collaboration across teams. These roles let you control exactly who can access what, providing more flexibility for team collaboration. We can’t wait to start using these features to streamline our workflows alongside our clients.
  5. Analyze and Optimize Without Leaving Webflow
Any time you need to add enhanced analytics, site optimization, or personalization you know you’re in for a headache, right? Not anymore! Webflow heard our cries and responded with in-tool solutions for analytics and optimization. This makes Webflow not just a website builder, but a platform for continual improvement, a marketer’s dream. From page and event-based analytics to baked-in a/b testing, these features bring what used to require 3–4 other tools under one roof. On top of that, they introduced AI-powered optimization that takes things even further by automating performance enhancements, saving time and making the platform more effective over time.
  6. Great Sessions Highlighting Partner-Client Relationships
One of the most valuable aspects of Webflow Conf was learning from other Webflow partners and their clients. These sessions gave us new insights into how we can better serve our clients and continue to improve our own partnerships. It’s always helpful to step into our clients’ shoes, and these conversations helped us do just that.
  7. Webflow Is Still the Best Website-Building Platform for Designers
For designers, Webflow remains the go-to tool for creating custom, creative websites. With a continued focus on new features like animations and interactions, it’s clear that Webflow is still the best platform for those who want full creative control. No other tool offers this level of flexibility for design-centric teams.
  8. AI Is Taking a Bite Out of SEO
One surprising insight from the conference was the impact AI is having on organic search traffic—which has decreased an estimated 30 percent since last year. This means companies need to get more creative to stand out. It also means that a deeper focus on technical SEO and structured data is more crucial than ever before. With AI changing how people find content, the margin for error is getting lower and lower. So if you’re a marketer, you better have a solid SEO strategy in place! 9. AI Features Making an Appearance in the Webflow Designer
On a positive note regarding AI, Webflow is making our lives easier by integrating artificial intelligence directly into the designer. The creative process stays the same, but new AI tools reduce repetitive tasks, giving us more time to focus on what really matters—creating great websites. It seems like a game-changer for productivity and efficiency and we can’t wait to try it out.
  10. Build Your Own Landing Pages
One of the most exciting updates was the introduction of the new “Build” mode that empowers marketers like never before. With drag-and-drop page slots, marketers can now create their own designer-approved landing pages in minutes. It gives them full control over content and page flow, while ensuring the design remains consistent with brand standards.
  11. [Bonus] Don’t Leave Your Bag in Your Car 😭
Here’s a more personal takeaway: don’t leave your backpack in your car when visiting San Francisco—because it will be gone. We learned the hard way when our car was broken into and a laptop was stolen. Lesson learned!

It’s an understatement to say that we had an amazing time at Webflow Conf this year and left with tons of new ideas and insights. Whether you’re looking to adopt Webflow or you’re already using it, this platform continues to lead the way in innovation and community support. Can’t wait to get our hands on all of the new features and to see what’s coming next!
